Self Portrait

This is my self portrait. Goals in this painting is show light and dark by using charcoal. I used black charcoal to draw the dark areas and erased the charcoal where is lighter. Difficult part of this drawing is drawing the shadow which has different tone of color, it is hard to put different tone of black by charcoal. I used really dark charcoal and rubbed it to give the medium tone of black. Erin Cone might be good mentor to learn how to draw shadow and lights because she is really good at drawing shadow and lights. I did well on this painting is that I putted all the lights and shadow I saw on my photograph.

This is left over of tuna can. I ate them all.

Where I spend my time

It is my room, I spend most of my time in my room because I don't go out often. I play games in my room, do my homework, and I also watching TV in my room.

Pumpkin

My goals of this drawing was to give a feeling of darkness and lightness. I used charcoal to give darkness and used eraser to give lightness. My painting has reflected light on top of pumpkin and side of it. I smeared charcoal to make it looks smooth. The most difficult challenge is drawing furrows on pumpkins. I used eraser to give whites next to furrows. I learned how to find reflected lights and learned how to draw wrinkles during this class. I like Madison's pumpkin drawing because she drew lots of reflected lights, unlike me. If I have to do over I would give more reflected lights and try to make furrows more realistic. Best thing about my art work is that I gave a good shadows to it. I liked this project and I learned lots of things

Family

They are my friend. I knew them almost 8 years. My parent know all of them and treat them as family. They are my family because they always help me when I am in difficulty. They never betray me and always stay in my side.

Special place to me

It is soccer field in Tan Bel elementary school. This place is special to me because Tan Bel elementary school is only school I have gone in Korea. I graduated middle school in China and I'm going to graduate high school in America.

Shells in shadows

This is my painting. I named it darkness of revenge because conch stuck middle of shells and it cracked. I putted light in front of shells to make conch's shadow longer. The mood of this picture is darkness or sadness. I used all 1-5 scales of color. I made it interesting by stuck shell in another shell and gave one shell a longer shadow. I draw shadow in unoccupied space.
